SUMMARY
Project Managers scope, plan, design and administer the design and building process for multiple projects, within OHSU’s standards and quality guidelines. Projects are complex, high-cost and high-risk with a great degree of diversity. Project Managers are accountable for regulatory agency requirements. Coordinate the work of project teams including project coordinators, drafters, estimators, outside contractors and consulting design professionals. Responsible for defining project scope, schedule, budget and producing design construction documents for all projects.
Project Managers manage projects that incorporate complex design features, unusual building materials, and advanced building techniques. Projects present diversified and novel problems in which established criteria and technical precedents frequently do not apply. Typically, the Project Manager cannot rely on precedent or standard data in making judgments and decisions.
Project Managers lead the project team assigned to specific projects, comprised of Project Coordinators (1, 2 & 3), Drafters, including assigning and reviewing work, and providing input to employee reviews.
Manages the initial development of assigned projects by preparing decision-support scoping documents that will establish budget and schedule. Coordinates and/or generates the gathering and analysis of confidential, strategic information required to document the desired scope of a project to reflect the needs of the end user. Prepares Functional and Space Program to establish agreement about the project scope, schedule and budget. Obtains review and approval of key constituents to reflect agreement with the project scope. (No budget overruns are allowed on C06 grants.)
