Utilities & Renewable Energy:
Aspen’s water supply is from mountain streams in the White River National Forest and the water division can produce up to 20 million gallons of water daily. With more than a century of hydroelectric power, the Aspen community is continuing the tradition with the Castle Creek Energy Plan. The city’s energy supply is currently 40% hydroelectric and 36% wind power. By showing the economic viability of renewable energy, the City continues to lead the way in renewable energies.
 
The Position:
Reporting to the Director of Utilities & Environmental Initiatives, the Deputy Director of Utilities & Renewable Energies duties include project management, supervision, policy analysis, administration, and management of the City of Aspen Water and Electric Departments and renewable energies initiatives. The position is responsible for the supervision of the Raw Water and Hydroelectric Supervisor, Global Warming Project Manager, and Energy Efficiency Manager. 
 
Salary:

$76,634 to $103,124. Relocation assistance may be provided. Housing may be available. In addition to a competitive salary, the City of Aspen offers an impressive benefits package. 
 
Minimum requirements to be considered include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, public administration or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible exp. in project or energy management, engineering, public works, utilities or related field plus 3 years supervisory experience.
