Education Relations Specialist

Position Overview:
The Education Relations Specialist is an Associate-level role (minimum 4 years of experience required) that will cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key industry organizations and partners to advance the Council's mission of market transformation through its education objectives. This position will assist the Director of Education Partnerships to identify and deliver opportunities for education among prospective partner organizations to ensure that all relations contribute to advancing the USGBC EDU Vision and yield the maximum benefit for all parties.
The key responsibility will focus on consultative sales of education products and services through customized and bundled education agreements for USGBC major end-user education targets within corporations, government, associations and higher education. The Education Relations Specialist will assist in the creation and management of the Education Provider Network. In addition, this position will work closely with Education Delivery and other Education business units - Curriculum and Resource Development, Education Review and Education Development Services.
The Education Relations Specialist will collaborate with International Programs, LEED Market Development, Community and Customer Service to leverage education client relationships across the USGBC organization.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, understand the marketplace and industry trends, and find business opportunities for Education Business Development.
- Cultivate, establish, and maintain relationships with USGBC member companies and other industry organizations to identify green building education and research needs and opportunities for collaboration.
- Consultative sales of education products and services through customized and bundled education agreements for USGBC major end-user targets within corporations, government, associations and higher education.
- Manage relationships and follow up with large scale clients to leverage opportunity for additional sales.
- Serve as liaison between Education and other USGBC Departments such as Market Development and Customer Service to align targets, streamline approach to customers, negate overlap of communication and organize regular check-ins and feedback loop.
- Track communication and sales to engaged clients for weekly, quarterly and year-end reports.
- Create functional and seamless transition between relations and fulfillment through close collaboration with Manager of Education Delivery and other Education Business Units to complete transaction.
- Participate in Relations business planning, budgeting, performance tracking and reporting efforts to Director, Education Partnerships.
- Coordinate and build the Education Provider Network with the Director of Education Partnerships and Education Review.
- Aid Education Relations Associate management of Education Provider Network activities
- Work closely with Marketing to develop materials and sales tools for Education Relations and Education Provider Network activities.
- Represent USGBC education on Education Events Working groups as required.
- Represent USGBC education at industry conferences, meetings and presentations.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education & Training Requirements/Preferences:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field such as Communications, Business or Market Development.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years relevant professional experience required, experience in PR, Marketing, Market Development or Sales preferred.
Other Required Skills and Qualifications:
- LEED Green Associate Credential preferred.
- Some environmental, building industry and/or education industry experience preferred.
- Effective written and interpersonal communications skills .
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and project management experience.
- Capacity to travel and attend evening events as needed.
