Senior Program Manager, North America

Position Overview:
The TFT works with retailers and importers in Europe, Asia and the U.S and is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Program Manager based in North America, reporting to the Member Program Director in the UK. The key functions will be to provide an excellent level of support to current TFT Members and business partners trading in wood product,
linking their supply chains to TFT forest projects; to expand the scope of TFT in North America among potential Members and potential business partners, and to spread the reach of TFT in North America by further developing our presence there.
The Senior Program Manager position is based in North America (specific location to be agreed).
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility to recruit new Members and new business partners to TFT
- Responsibility for understanding Member wood sourcing needs, and ensuring successful delivery of projects by coordinating activities between Members and TFT Field Teams
- Providing advice to Members and business partners on how to meet legality requirements and move to sustainable wood sources.
- Full responsibility for managing use of TFT brand with all clients in the region.
- Responsibility for all TFT related communication with all clients in the region.
- Managing communications and relations with stakeholder groups and industry bodies
- Lead the TFT US team.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
- Be a highly motivated self-starter, with an understanding of timber and forest certification issues.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, the North American retail industry, especially in the wood sector.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the Lacey Act and associated compliance issues.
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills
- Have a high level of competence in project management
- Have demonstrated skills in sales or recruitment of businesses to an organisation
- Be flexible and willing to travel extensively
