Position Overview: 

The Company seeks a Technology Visionary/VP of Product Development to guide the creation and commercialization of a new wind-related software product. This role will involve project management, collaboration with our partner, a leading global wind engineering firm, and our VP of Business Development in the creation of a new wind assessment tool, working through product iterations, and taking on speaking engagements at relevant conferences and seminars. We are looking for someone who is now, or can become an expert in wind analysis relevant to small turbines.

Despite the advanced nature of the title, this is an ideal position for a recently graduated Masters or PhD student with an interest in applying their knowledge to the development of a tool to help the small wind industry. It is also well suited for anyone with wind industry experience who is looking to drive future progress in the field.

Qualifications: 

Target attributes:

• Advanced degree relating to atmospheric science, physics, or fluid dynamics. Coursework in software development, computer science, information technology are a huge plus.
• Experience with clean energy, wind, software application development, or environmental science.
• Project management experience, ideally within a software development context.
• Interest in working with an early stage company, creating products that are changing the small wind industry.

Knowledge of a technical discipline relating to wind (e.g fluid dynamics, atmospheric science), or experience in the wind power industry is MANDATORY. It is important to note that given some tech industry and atmospheric background, personal energy and vision are the most important things we are looking for in the candidate. We are strongly considering both those with considerable experience, and those early in their careers.
