Knowledge Center Manager

Position Overview:
USGBC is seeking an individual skilled in library or information sciences to serve as its Knowledge Center Manager. This position is an entry-level management role that will manage the Knowledge Exchange and Knowledge Center, which serve as USGBC's interactive platform for the exchange of green building knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Manage operations of the Knowledge Resource Center (KRC) program
- Represent the Education department on USGBC's Operations Committee
- Liaise with the Technology department and facilitate the integration of technical tools into the online Knowledge Exchange
- Educate internal and external audiences on best practices in information literacy
- Foster partnerships with other organizations, businesses, and individuals to create content, assist with publicity, and provide financial support for the Knowledge Exchange.
- Lead outreach efforts to expand visibility and encourage use of the Knowledge Exchange
- Establish selection and content-sharing policies for all online educational collections
- Special related projects as assigned
Knowledge Exchange:
- Identify and communicate compelling strategic reasons for implementing new/emerging web technologies that promote and deliver USGBC's educational assets
- Ensure that USGBC's Knowledge Exchange collection contains vetted, quality content and adds value to USGBC's educational programs
- Continually stay on top of emerging trends in technology and information architecture
Knowledge Center:
- Ensure that USGBC's Knowledge Center collection contains vetted, quality content and adds value to USGBC's educational programs
- Lead outreach efforts to expand visibility and encourage use of the Knowledge Center
- Coordinate with all education and research business units for Knowledge Center use
Qualifications:
Education & Training Requirements/Preferences:
- Master of Library Science or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program
- Additional training in new technologies (preferred)
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience
Other Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skills at integrating new technologies into projects
- Demonstrated experience initiating and implementing new projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service abilities
- Highly organized and detailed-oriented
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of green building and/or sustainability principles and concepts
- Ability to balance multiple tasks
- Experience with HTML
- Solo/special library experience
- Group/team planning experience
- Experience preferred in the areas of budgeting, supervision, grant management, training
- Commitment to USGBC Mission
