Position Overview:

Dovetail Solar and Wind, a leading renewable energy design & installation company, seeks a Lead Installer for installation of solar PV and solar thermal systems.  The Project Manager supervises the Lead Installer and coordinates project planning and preparations.  This position requires physical mobility, mechanical dexterity, sight, hearing and the ability to lift and carry large objects.

Responsibilities: 

• coordinating and performing on-site installation work 
• supervising the Dovetail crew and any subcontractors 
• responsible for the overall quality, schedule and safety of on-site installation work
• maintain communications with client, suppliers, sub-contractors and Project Manager for smooth project execution
• Coordinates safety procedures with Dovetail Safety Manager and ensures safety standards are executed at all times 
• Some site visit survey and sales follow-up work will be necessary
• Leads installation of assigned projects in conjunction with Project Manager
• Confirms correct materials and equipment arrive on site.
• Assigns responsibilities to crew members.
• Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards
• Minimizes our exposure and risk on project
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
• Coordinates permit inspections
• Coordinates and implements safety procedures
• Tracks employee work hours
• Assists with pre-construction site visits, system commissioning, and service calls
• Submits expense receipts to Office Manager in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepares tools and materials for transport with assistance from Logistics Coordinator

• Participates in project reviews, process improvements and implements quality assurance procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years experience with solar PV and solar thermal systems required. 
• This full-time position will based in Central or Southeast Ohio.  
• Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people, organize tasks, resolve issues, and manage multiple activities. 
• Ability to pass an annual drug test is required.
• The position requires experience leading construction crews, and some electrical and mechanical experience, as well as the ability to read plans and to adhere to Section 690 of the NEC manual. 
• Must be competent in the operation of a personal computer and Microsoft Office tools.
• Overnight travel is required.   

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 Annually
