Prep Room Supervisor, Traveling

Responsibilties:
- Working conditions include a cold and wet environment (34-36 degrees F), the smell of chlorine, outdoor weather conditions, heavy machinery, forklift traffic, and loud noises.
- Provide professional expertise to direct and execute operations of the prep room for the production function at Earthbound Farm.
- Manage and coordinate prep room operations to provide the highest levels of efficiency, accuracy, and timely reporting.
- Supervise subordinate personnel.
- Assist other production/operations supervisors and management personnel to ensure the highest schedule attainment.
- Ensure a cohesive, efficient, hostile-free work environment.
- Ensure employees adhere to company policies, including but not limited to safety and GMP requirements, at all times.
- Monitor and evaluate all prep room-related operations, programs, processes, and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide and track key indicators of plant performance, including but not limited to: efficiency, yield, waste, down time, and labor cost for the prep area.
- Provide assistance to other members of the production/operations team to ensure we are successful as a team.
- Maintain full-shift responsibility for staff (over 50 employees): weekly tailgate meetings, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, evaluating performance, and coaching.
- Ensure upkeep and accuracy of prep room activity reporting.
- Ensure equipment condition is maintained at optimal conditions at all times, and submit proper work orders as needed.
- Work on other projects as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience in a supervisor or lead role in a large-scale food manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and USDA/FDA guidelines
- Bilingual/bi-literate in English and Spanish
- Able to handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism
- Self-directed with a sense of urgency; able to handle multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, with a commitment to excellence and ability to lead through teamwork and team building
- Must be flexible with schedule and able to work PM, weekends, and overtime as required
- Able to relocate to Yuma, AZ during the winter growing season (approximately November thru April) each year
