Renewable Energy Consultant

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to municipalities on solar and wind project development including: performing site assessments, drafting requests for proposals (RFPs), reviewing bid responses, overseeing contract preparation and project execution.
- Assist in the renewable energy Production Tracking System (PTS) administration including thorough data analysis to assess system performance.
- Perform initial PV design reviews
- Perform on site renewable energy audits at both municipal buildings and residences
- Write high quality memos reports to clients, including actionable recommendations.
- Work independently to manage research projects and participate in research efforts.
- Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates.
- Promote Cadmus's reputation through contributions to conference paper submissions and presentations.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in environmental science or management, mechanical, electrical, or power systems engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of the Massachusetts renewable energy industry including the SREC market and emerging policy, state renewable energy rebate opportunities, and financial models for funding renewable energy systems
- 2+ years work in the energy industry, preferably in the renewable energy industry
- Excellent communication and outreach skills
- Familiarity with site characteristics needed to properly site a renewable energy system.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities with writing skills.
- Demonstrated initiative in problem solving methods and analysis capabilities.
- Willingness to travel in-state and occasionally out-of-state.
- Strong desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with metering standards and national electric code as related to renewable systems (i.e. ANSI and NEC standards).
- Familiarity with Massachusetts community purchasing procedures
- Familiarity with industry tools (i.e. PV Watts, SAM, In My Backyard, Open Source PV, ArcGIS, etc.).
- Experience working with municipal officials and energy task force members.
- Fieldwork experience (i.e performing energy audits and installing meters).
- Experience working in SQL or other database or software experience
- Basic understanding of building systems and controls.
