About You:
The editor in this position will have some experience covering alternative energy (especially wind and/or solar), but a solid background in general print or online journalism would also serve as good preparation. This editor will scour the media, as well as financial reports and other sources of analysis, for information relevant to the renewable energy sector. The ability to write concise headlines will be essential, as will a talent for getting to the heart of a wide range of different stories. A decent grasp of AP style will be helpful. The ability to juggle RSS feeds, Google alerts, and multiple information inputs from around the alternative energy sector will be critical, as will your ability to learn how to classify stories according to our database.
There's ample room for growth at opportunity at Industry Intelligence, as the company is rapidly expanding and moving into new areas of business-to-business coverage. The Editor in Alternative Energy will have the chance to develop comprehensive knowledge of the rapidly evolving cleantech energy sector. You will not be doing this alone, however. This is not a one-man/woman show. You must have highly effective interpersonal relationship and teamwork skills and be able to operate in a richly collaborative environment. Responsibilities:
- Monitor the daily flow of news in the alternative energy sector, especially for wind
- Monitor press releases and corporate communications from companies targeted for coverage
- Reach out to companies, institutions, and government sources for news and information
- Select the most relevant and timely stories and either post them to our service or rewrite them to focus on key trends
- Write concise, engaging headlines that can encapsulate the entire story
- Organize news and information using our tagging system
- Conduct ongoing research into the alternative energy sector
- Act as a resource for other parts of the company, sharing research, news, and information
Qualifications:
Academic/E xperience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in English, Journalism or a related field; graduate degree helpful but not required
- Approximately 1-5 years of experience, with 2 years covering Alternative Energy markets
- Background in newspaper, magazine, or online journalism helpful
- Comfortable with online publishing platforms and common business software, such as Microsoft Office; familiarity with online communication tools, such as instant messaging; adept at using Google products, such as Google alerts, and doing focused Google searches

Compensation: 45,000-50,000. Our employees go above and beyond for us so we go above and beyond for you.
