Director of Sales
Will relocate the right candidate to sunny Los Angeles, CA!
We are a very successful start-up company in the Solar Energy industry, and we are looking for a Director of Sales to join our growing team!

What you need:
- 5+ years of sales experience managing and performing a wide variety of sales duties.
- Experience at building a sales team and achieving sales objectives with at least one successful product preferably in a B2B consultative sales environment.
- Experience selling photovoltaic components or systems (2 years or more)
- Experience working with channel partners in Europe
- Ability to translate strategic goals into plans and actionable objectives
- Strong skills in planning, organizing and executing programs and processes
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in a dynamic environment with the flexibility to adapt to the evolution of the marketplace
- Ability to travel for customer visits, trade shows, conferences, meetings as needed
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines and multiple requests
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal formats
- Goal oriented, self-motivated
- Ability to work independently, but within a team environment
- Proficient computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office and other planning and process management programs as needed
Good to have skills/experience:
- Successful experience in a start-up environment!
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering would be ideal and MBA a big plus!
What you'll be doing:
- Develop, direct and achieve the company's sales objectives, programs and initiatives.
- Evaluate changes to the marketplace and the industry and adjust sales plans accordingly.
- Maintain and enhance the quality and profitability of the sales plan through the development of operationally feasible and cost-effective programs.
- Determine and recommend department budget; monitor and manage controllable expenses
- Develop a product pricing matrix
- Field inbound sales calls from web-site
- Make outbound sales calls/visits to prospects
- Manage all sales /business development activities including trade show and conference attendance, proposal development, customer interactions and lead follow-up
- Leverage internal resources and/or hire and train staff as needed
- Interface with external constituencies including system integrators, PPA providers, regulatory officials, legislators and their staff, trade associations and others as appropriate

Base salary will depend on experience but can range from $80k to $130k/year + commission/bonus. Total comp can easily exceed $200k/year.
