Job Description :
Responsible Data Center architecture and performance. Gate-keeper for release of all new IT Services into Production. Participate in defining the corporate system architecture and capacity planning. Implementing procedures to enhance the stability and reliability of all Production Networks and Services. Manage the Release of new IT projects into Production and through cross –training IT Ops staff as a Secondary Technical Owner to all Primary Network and System Architectural staff via IT Runbooks. Work closely with other IT groups (App Dev, Network Infrastructure, Business and MES Systems) to implement and support the company’s internal /external Security policies. Will be responsible for defining the standard for and reliability of all production systems, operating systems and databases in a 24 by 7 (off hours support) environment. Will manage all production system backups/restores functions, storage, system capacity and resource capabilities and issues. Proactively monitor all Solyndra systems and networks to ensure we scale before material performance degradation. Likewise deploy levels of Monitoring, redundancy, fault-tolerance appropriate for (multi-Fab) 24/7 Factory where scheduled down-time is not a frequent event.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manages Release of all IT Services into Production
- Gatekeeper for ‘Change Control’ within IT, as well as IT changes to the Production floor
- Define Hardware and Software standards for Servers, Storage, Security and Desktop
- Provide oversight to both Business systems and MES Systems teams to ensure compliance to the above.
- Maximizing availability and reliability of critical business / MES systems and related services by supporting, maintaining, and administering the operating, database, and messaging systems.
- Proactive Monitoring of Health to ensure scaling of system prior to material performance degradation
- Managing all production system backups and restores
- Manage all storage, system capacity, and resource issues
- Manage IT Operations 24 by 7 support coverage
- Managing all redundancy and fault tolerant architecture
- Lead BCP and Disaster Recovery within IT
- Keeping all senior management informed of all relevant administration support information
- Supervise, train, schedule appropriate staff to meet goals
- Gain in-depth understanding of key business systems and departmental functions to meet and anticipate the support requirements of operational staff and customers
- SOX and HIPPA compliance as required
- Project manage projects in support of company goals
- Manage staff of Information Services professionals ( system administrators, Operations and helpdesk personnel)
- Oversee and lead the research and development of overall architecture of production systems used, including hardware, software, communications, Monitoring, Security, IDS, data backup, redundancy
- Ensure all customer service level target agreements are being met
- Manage the procurement of production server / client software and hardware, track said assets
- Oversee helpdesk documentation to standardize the quality of help desk services
- Develop, encourage, and motivate team members to effectively carry out information systems projects/tasks
- Career development for I.T. staff
- Technology Evaluations/Selection/Purchase.
Prefer Global Operations Head to be secondary technologist on staff for any of the following:
- MES Eyelit Systems
- Oracle or other ERP systems
- Network architect – WAN/LAN(Routers, Switches,
- Unix or Windows systems
- Network User Administration (including Exchange email, calendars, contacts)
- Storage (NetApp and Brocade Fiber channel)
Job Requirements :
- 5 + years in a Manager or Director of IT role.
- Technical Hands-on Business / Technology architect.
- BSCS or other related degree.
- CPIM or equivalent expertise in Manufacturing Environment.
- 4+ years as Business Systems Analyst, or supporting ERP systems
- 4+ years as an MES Analyst or supporting MES Systems
- 8+ years managing Information / Technology Staff including 24/7 with Shift
- Proven ability to Solve Business Problems / Objectives through Implementation of Technological Solutions.
- Proven ability to direct and motivate Technical Staff with a Team based orientation.
- Successful deployment of at least one WEB based service in addition to a Content based Home Page.
- Successful deployment of ‘after hours’ Data Center (Network Operations) with Monitoring, Recovery and Escalation responsibility.
- Experienced in working for a company of similar Business Model /Market Segment. (Solar)
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited documentation exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or data flow.
