Staff Accountant

Summary:
- Manage the balance sheet and P&L monthly review.
- Ensure SOX documentation are updated and accurately describe actual procedures.
- Assess and identify process efficiencies surrounding accounting and month-end close procedures.
- Liaise and coordinate with Financial Planning and Analysis department in researching expenses including determine propriety of account coding.
- Develop and document business process and desk procedures for assigned area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Provide analysis and coordinate gathering of schedules and support for the monthly balance sheet and income statement reviews
- Oversee the quarterly review and year-end audit schedule compilation and review
- Liase with FP&A in the identification of and recording related adjustments related to account strings
- Assist in the planning and testing of changes or modifications to Oracle R12
- Develop documentation and desk procedures around Oracle projects
- Evaluate and perform necessary month-end closing reviews of account balances and oversee confirmation and balance validation with third parties
- Provide input or guidance to accounting treatments for transactions
- Identify and resolve accounting related problems that require analysis and evaluation of multiple factors.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 2-4 years of public accounting or relevant work experience
- Strong analytical capability and attention to details
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Effective communication skills
- Extensive Excel spreadsheet and research skills
Qualifications:
- Oracle experience preferred
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
